NMPolitics.net and the Las Cruces Sun-News have gained second place in a national feature writing competitors for a narrative about how a multi-ethnic household is working to make ends meet and get alongside in a sophisticated world.

The article, “Millennials like this mixed-ethnicity couple are reshaping America,” gained second place within the feature story class of the National Federation of Press Women’s 2017 competitors. Damien Willis wrote the article and Robin Zielinski created a video report and pictures to accompany it.

“I’m honored to have been afforded the unique opportunity to share this important story,” Willis stated.

He and Zielinski informed the story of Luz Skywalker and Zach Eason, a multi-ethnic Las Cruces couple, and their daughter Luna. They positioned the household in a bigger context with statistics and different info, with the 2016 election as a backdrop.
