ATLANTA — Democrat Jon Ossoff fired a shot at Republican Karen Handel at the moment because the 6th district congressional runoff will get underway.  In an interview with 11alive information, Ossoff stated Handel’s document on women’s health is unacceptable.

“With all due respect to Karen, I think her record on women’s health issues is lacking,” Ossoff stated.

Ossoff says he’s an outspoken defender of Roe v. Wade, the 1973 US Supreme Court choice legalizing abortion.

Ossoff factors to Handel’s criticism of Planned Parenthood, a place which led to her resignation from the Komen Foundation in 2012.  Vocally anti-abortion, Handel shares a pro-life view with many Republicans.  She all-but predicted the assaultTuesday night time throughout her runoff celebration.

“Those who want to have a debate about values, a debate about – say – women’s health care, I say, to borrow a phrase, bring it on,” Handel advised a cheering crowd.

Handel pressured Ossoff right into a runoff Tuesday night time.  The 6th district race has drawn nationwide consideration as a referendum on the presidency of Donald Trump.  But Ossoff’s first salvo is a extra conventional one, saying he opposes efforts in Congress to defund Planned Parenthood.

“”I might by no means disparage anybody who has differing views on the difficulty. But it is exactly that complexity at the moral and medical degree that makes it unacceptable for federal bureaucrats to be getting between women and households and their docs,” Ossoff stated.

Handel wouldn’t comply with an interview Wednesday or Thursday.  On her marketing campaign web site, she writes “I’m pro-life and consider that life begins at conception.”
