Former Stanford All-American Garrett Heath gained the Bend Classic Mile on Saturday night.

The second-year occasion was held between the professional women’s and males’s races within the Downtown Twilight Criterium on the Cascade Cycling Classic.

Heath, a 31-year-old Brooks Beasts runner, completed the course, which began and completed on Wall Street, in four minutes, 2.7 seconds, simply forward of Daniel Herrera of Portland. Defending champion Tripp Hurt, of Eugene, was third within the elite division.

The Seattle-based winner’s greatest profession time within the mile is Three:53.15, at London’s Olympic Stadium in 2013.

In the women’s race, Marisa Howard, 24, gained in four:37. The former Boise State All-American and present Oiselle runner was coming off a win within the Three,000-meter steeplechase on the Savo Games in Finland.

A complete of 121 runners took the course within the elite and open divisions for the $5,000 complete prize purse.
